On-demand Design Service FAQs

1. How does the on-demand design service work?

Full Day Design Rescue and Half Day Design Care:
Easy! Book my time directly, pay securely, I'm all yours!

Hourly priority service:
1. Consultation Call: Start with a free chat. I'll learn about your needs, goals, and challenges to tailor my design services for you.
2. Mutual agreement: If we're a good fit, we'll outline the terms of our collaboration. It's not a formal contract, but it sets clear expectations. If necessary, I can sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) or any other necessary agreement.
3. Client Registry: Once agreed, you'll be added to my client system and given access to the client portal. A one-time fee of 200€ covers the setup, including understanding your brand and preparing my workspace. If you have design guidelines, that's a plus!
4. I'm here when you need me. Reach out for design tasks, campaign ideas, or insights. There is no need for a detailed brief—a quick call is often enough.

You can book my time if you need me for a full day or a specific time slot to focus on your stuff. I'm also available on weekends with a weekend hourly rate of 135€ (excl. 19% VAT). At month's end, you'll receive an invoice for the hours worked. Monitor time logs anytime in the client portal. On a tight budget? Let me know, and I'll help manage it. (Note: The portal's budget feature is not available yet in the client portal, but I can manually track it for now.)

If you need at least three days of design support, please send me an inquiry with detailed information about your needs. I will then get back to you with a quote. 

2. What is the 200€ service fee for?

This fee is a one-time fee that applies to hourly priority service clients. Once we agree to work together, I will set up my workspace and activate your client portal. This client portal has features similar to popular freelance platforms like UpWork to track my hours.

3. What types of design projects are suitable for the on-demand services?

You can use my services for almost anything. I can help you with emergency tasks, temporarily replace your design lead, provide additional design support for your design team, cover maternity or unexpected leave, and more.

Otherwise, you can simply use my services as your business buddy (a term coined by my client). I'm a business owner myself, and I understand your challenges. Some of my clients are solo entrepreneurs and I help them with business and marketing strategy and implementation, including social media marketing and marketing automations. Basically anything that helps them sell.

4. Is there a limit to the number of design requests I can make?

No. Since the on-demand design services are charged by the time spent (hourly/half-day/full-day), you can request as many things as possible but be realistic with the deadline. I can work fast but I also have other clients to take care of. 

5. Is there a revision limit?

No. You can enjoy the flexibility of unlimited revisions, similar to what you'd expect from in-house designers. 

For hourly priority service: Through the client portal, you can easily track my time spent on actual design work, meetings, and any time spent on revisions, ensuring transparency and efficiency in our future collaboration.

Time is money, and to make the most of it, I encourage my clients to give me a heads up in advance. By aligning action items for the marketing channel owner, content writer, and me as the designer, Ican avoid wasting time and work more effectively towards your goals. From my experience, I've encountered situations where a design itself may take only a few minutes to create, but the feedback loop can stretch for hours due to constant changes caused by unclear strategy. While I'm accommodating of this, I believe there's a smarter way to work.

6. What if I need a design fast?

That's why you have me, right? contact me through any means of communication that is convenient for you. On average, I can deliver a design ± 46 minutes* when I'm not busy with other clients. It would be great if you can give me some updates so I will pick things up quickly when the bomb is dropped (applies for hourly priority service clients).

*Typically for repetitive tasks with clear context, such as a weekly newsletter banner.

7. Can I request specific file formats for the final designs?

Of course! Even when you don’t know exactly what you need, just tell me why do you need something and I’ll figure out the right format to deliver. 

8. What is your cancellation policy?

For Full-Day Design Rescue, Half-Day Intensive Care, and The Ultimate Design Wizardry): You may cancel your order at no charge up to 48 hours before the event. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled event are subject to a 50% fee.

For Hourly Priority Service customers: No cancellation is needed, even if you no longer wish to work with me. I know I will be sad to see you go, but I understand. You can simply ghost me like most Berliner men do. Unlike my exes, I want you to come back though...

9. How did you come up with the on-demand design service?

Well, business trends and economic growth. I think I was most inspired by the sharing economy "to have something without owning it" and also how the print-on-demand business solved the biggest problem of overstocked inventory. 

My entrepreneurial journey has taught me many things that have changed my perspective towards design. Design is not art. Design is a way of thinking and a powerful tool for your business. It took me years to realize this until I had to make a decision for myself as a business owner, not as a designer. The truth is, in business, you don't always need a designer to start, run or scale a business unless you're in the fashion or lifestyle industry. But if you want to be successful like the big players, you need us, the designers, because we're native to the design thinking method.

In a way, with my on-demand design services, I want to make design thinking accessible to everyone, for every business of every size and level, without the need to hire me full-time. This way, I solve your manpower issues without long-term budget commitments, and in return, I have the opportunity to learn a lot from different clients. This is the only way I can have the opportunity for growth as an individual.
